Hi, I'm Natali Morris with CNET. You're watching our coverage of the 2011 Consumer Electronic Show and we're taking a first look at Unify by RealNetworks. This is a software solution that will take your media, meaning music, photos, and videos, and unify them on various devices because how many times do you think, "Oh, I'd like to listen to this album, but it's on my computer or it's on my tablet and not my phone or not my iPod." This is gonna allow those devices to speak to each other over the cloud. So, you can listen to that music either locally, meaning whatever is on the device that you're using, or over the cloud, if you have a connection. Now, if you're the kind of person like me that takes the subway and sometimes you don't have a connection, you can find the music that you own on your own Unify account, download it to that device so you make sure that you have it for when you're not connected. This is a premium service, or "freemium" rather, meaning it's free for 2 gigs and then you're gonna pay for upgrade. They haven't announced pricing yet but they say it'll cost about what a cup of coffee costs every month or maybe a fancy coffee like a latte so we're thinking $4 or $5 a month. And, to connect all your devices to your account, you just log in with your Unify account. To get your Facebook photos on your Unify account, you can log in using Facebook Connect. Right now, it works on pretty much most platforms, Android, Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPod, and the other major platforms will be supported later in the year including BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7.
