>> The next time you wanna look something up on Wikipedia from your Android phone skip the browser and head straight to the application known as Quickpedia. I'm Jessica Dolcourt from CNET Download.com with your First Look at the free Quickpedia app for Google Android. When it comes to using Quickpedia there are really a very few surprises, but that's just part of its charm. When you were open the app you can search for a person or a topic or if you're looking for more general identification you can browse by featured or popular stories. You can also read Wikipedia entries on major news stories which is neat or this is cool too, you can use the phone's GPS Marks to learn more about the landmarks nearby. Now, let's get back to the substance of Quickpedia and the feature you'll use about 99% of the time -- search. If you're patient, Quickpedia will search for common entries as you type which saves you a lot of effort. As it pulls on content it will also import the photos and table of contents of your Wikipedia article. There are also few extras involved. If you're tired of holding the phone in your face to read the tiny print you can tap in to the options menu at the top and increase the font's size. You can also email the article to your self or to someone else or go into settings to enter a non Gmail email address as your Quickpedia default. One last thing before we go. The link that Quickpedia e-mails looks like it's being hosted by the application's publisher, but it actually will redirect to your Wikipedia article. I'm Jessica Dolcourt and this is Quickpedia for Google Android. ^M00:01:38 [ Music ]
