>> If you own a D80 or similar DSLR from Nikon I have to believe you bought it at least part to get some action shots. To freeze the motion. Whether it's racing, sports or just being with family and friends. Here's how you get into the mode that'll do that best. Shutter priority. Okay for this quick tip, turn your camera on. And then roll the main mode button here over to S. That stands for shutter priority. Now under your right thumb you've got the sub command wheel. Roll that back and forth and notice how you're changing the shutter speed. As you do that the aperture number next to it will change automatically depending on the light conditions. So you're setting the shutter, the camera is handling the aperture and of course the focus. For something fast moving like a car driving by go into at least the several hundredths of a second. So one to fiftieth, one four hundredth, even higher depending on the available light. That way you're not going to get a blur. You hold the camera still, fire the shutter and it's such a thin slice of time it'll capture almost anything and capture it still. When you want to go back to standard mode, just roll this thing back to auto or any of the other modes you want to get into to get into greater flexibility or have the camera do it all for you. That's a quick tip on how to use shutter mode to freeze the action on your D80 and similar Nikon DSLR. ^M00:01:19 [ Music ]
