Quick Tips: Pro keyboard tricks for your BlackBerry Video Transcript
Hi, I'm Molly Wood from CNET.com with a Quick Tip on how to use your BlackBerry like a pro. Check CNETTV.com for our tips on essential BlackBerry keyboard shortcuts...and make that your pre- requisite for these power user tricks. And remember, these tips are for BlackBerry models with a full QWERTY keyboard, like this Curve. Let's get started! First, want to organize your e-mails better? Alt-I will show only incoming mail, while Alt-O shows sent mail. Here's a better way to get to your phone log: just hit Alt-P. Use Alt- S to view all your SMS messages--sent and received. If only they were threaded. Come on, BlackBerry. One thing to note here, too: these shortcuts do not work when you're on the main screen. I don't know why. But they only work when you're in another application, like e-mail. Anyway...on to typing! If you need to insert an accent over a letter, hold the letter key, and then scroll up or down until you get the right one. If you need to get your phone number, open up a blank e-mail (press "C," remember?), type "mynumber," and then a space. BOOM. It's your number. You can also enter "LD" and a space to see the local date, and "LT" and a space to see the time. And finally, here's how to reboot in a hurry...without having to remove your battery. Just press ALT, Right Shift, and Delete, all at the same time. If these tips don't work on your model or you're looking for even more BlackBerry tips, check the Research in Motion support Web site or the excellent forums and newbie articles at CrackBerry.com. I'm Molly Wood for CNET.com. See you next time.
