>> Hi. I'm Veronica Belmont associate editor at CNET.com. On this edition of Quick Tips I'm going to show you how to use the privacy profile feature in the chat program ICQ. The privacy profile feature is a slider based control that sets how much of your personal information is allowed to get out. You know, common sense goes a long way, too. You don't need to include your home address or say, your social security number. Start off by click on the main tab in the task bar and hit options and then click on the privacy tab under privacy and security on the left here. In the middle of the panel you'll see a slider just below the label My Privacy Profile. It has three settings. High lets only the context of your personal details, medium allows only your contacts to see your phone and email information, but others can see your birthday, your gender and your name, and low lets all the riff raff know who you are, where you're from and what you do. Simple as that. For more Quick Tips on ICQ and more, check out CNETTV.com. I'm Veronica Belmont. Thanks for watching. ^M00:01:01 [ Music ]
