>> Hi, I'm Tom Merritt from CNET.com with a quick tip for how to save video and audio from the web using RealPlayer 11. Now I know I used to hate RealPlayer. But the new version has won me back a little with the ability to record web video. Now it only works with Internet Explorer or Firefox. Sorry Oprah and Safari fans. One word before we get into this too. Don't infringe copyrights people, okay, it's against the law we don't advocate breaking the law. Now, during the instillation of RealPlayer 11 Beta the setup program will ask you if you want to enable the button for downloading internet videos. Say yes. Leave it selected. You do want that. You don't necessarily want the rest of the default items selected that's up to you. You'll need to restart your browser for the new plug ins to work. Then, go to a website with a video you'd like to save, like this one right here. A download this video icon pops up above the video. Click on that and the video is saved in you're my videos folder to a folder call RealPlayer downloads. Now saving audio streams wasn't as simple as saving web videos. In fact, I couldn't get it to work. It just kept playing video ads every time I tried to launch an audio stream. So much for my love affair with Real, oh and one more thing, if you want to turn the function off or on if you never turned it on in the first place go to tools, choose preferences, select, download and recording, and uncheck the checkbox that says enable web downloading and recording. Now you can save your favorite streams until later, great way to capture live programs, seen it live anyone. I'm Tom Merritt for CNET.com capture the feeling. ^M00:01:38 [ Music ]
