Quick Tips: Close-ups made easy with the Canon A550 Video Transcript

>> You know, a lot of folks don't know you can take super close up photos with a simple camera like a Canon PowerShot 8550. I'm Brian Cooley with a Quick Tip on how to do it. Let's turn the camera on and then here on the left side of the navigation wheel is a flower, a little tulip looking thing. Press that. And that icon tells you that you're in close up mode. Now the camera only wants to focus on objects extremely close to the end of its lens. In fact, down to just two inches away. A couple of tips. Make sure that your lens is zoomed all the way wide. Don't use telephoto in this mode. I find that it makes the photo dark, course and hard to hold still. Secondly, flash may not be worthwhile here because it's so close to your object it may just overwhelm the picture so I tend to turn flash off. We have a separate Quick Tip on that. Oh, by the way, when you're done you've got to turn macro off or you can't take normal photos. Again, just press the flower icon and that goes away. So go take some super tights and explore the world of macro photography with your Canon PowerShot 8550 or similar digital camera. ^M00:01:05 [ Music ]
