>> Hey everyone, welcome to Quick Tips. I'm Veronica Belmont. When you switch from a PC to a Mac, there are some things that are fundamentally different with the way the operating system works. I asked around and found out some of the things that are most vexing to new Mac users. And the number one issue that drove people nuts was trying to figure out how to install an uninstall applications. It's really simple. Here's how you do it. When you download a new application, it'll usually come as a .dmg, short for disk image. Double click it to open it up and you should see an icon that represents the application that you're trying to install. All you need to do to install it is to drag that icon into your applications folder in the finder. Now just find the icon and open up your app. Uninstalling is just as easy. There's no uninstaller to run, no putzing [sp?] through control panel, like in Windows, either. Just drag the application out of your applications folder and into the trash, that's it. If you want to be super thorough about it, download the application App-Zapper. It's a great program that'll make sure all traces of the application are gone from your Mac forever.
