>> Dong: Hello, this is Dong Ngo for CNET.com and I have with me today the TS-109 Pro II NAS server from QNAP. This is a single bay network tech storage device that doesn't come with a hard drive, it means you will have to buy one and install yourself. The device supports and SAT hard drive of any capacity. On the back here apart from the ports you can find the place where you need to unscrew the box open to get to the hard drive base, it's quite a job. The NAS server also take a long time to format the hard drive, it took more than an hour for me. Other NAS servers take much less time just around 10 minutes or so for the job. The lengthy setup process aside, this is a NAS server of many features, it can support up to 3 printers or 2 IP Web cameras at the same time. It has built in media servers, MTP server, and the ability to download files by itself. The QNAP TS-109 is also one of a few NAS servers on the market that support ESAT port for external storage. You can also attach USB external hard drives to the device via two ports on the back here. On the front there's another USB port for its quick copy feature, you insert a thumb drive into this port here and press the button; this will backup the entire content of the thumb drive onto the NAS server. The TS-109 Pro II is a little pricey costing around $320.00 without a hard drive, however, it offers a lot more than just network storage space, remember to check out its review at CNET.com. My name's Dong Ngo and this has been the first look at the TS-109 Pro II NAS server from QNAP. ^E00:01:49
