>> Hey I'm Donald Bell, Senior Editor for Digital Audio and MP3. Today we're gonna take a first look at the LTB Audio System's QBean-ST Wireless Headphone System. The system is really meant for people who like the idea of wearing ear buds or earphones instead of headphones but want a wireless solution. So it comes in two main pieces. There is the wireless receiver that you either wear around your neck or you clip to your clothing using a clip; and then there is the wireless transmitter which you need to have plugged in to either a computer or whatever your audio source is. This is gonna take the audio, send it out over radio frequencies, and then it's gonna be picked up by your receiver. Now it doesn't use Bluetooth; it uses a high frequency radio transmission method which actually provides better audio than what stereo A2-DP Bluetooth would give you. The downside is that really it's kind of toy-like; again it's kind of bulky. A lot of the Bluetooth solutions we've seen have been a lot more streamlined, a lot more elegant looking. It is going to be a good solution for people who want a wireless headphone or earphone solution that's not paired to any particular pair of headphones or earphones; you can use this with anything. It comes with an included set of ear buds, better average, a little better than you'd expect. You also get a USB cable, you get an RCA plug adapter, you get a power adapter for the transmitter, and you get a 3.5 millimeter stereo connection jack also for connecting the transmitter to your computer or some other audio output source. But one of the things we like about the wireless receiver is that there are independent volume controls directly on the little egg shaped receiver thing here. For 130 dollars, even around 100 dollars we're not sure if they're a really great value especially considering the build quality of something like this; and also the fashion statement you make by wearing it or clipping it to your clothing. I'm Donald Bell and that was a first look at the QBean-ST Wireless Headphone System. ^M00:02:11 [ Music ] ^M00:02:13

Q-Bean ST Wireless Headphone Link (black) Review
The good: The Q-Bean ST wireless headphone system is easy to use and provides better audio quality than wireless Bluetooth solutions.
The bad: The Q-Bean looks and feels like an action figure accessory, not a high-fidelity audio product.
The bottom line: The Q-Bean ST won't win any design awards, but it does provide high-quality wireless from any audio source to any pair of headphones.
