>> Well this is apparently what car companies come up with when they're run by the government. The P.U.M.A, personal urban mobility and accessibility. GM and Segway making a huge splash on the eve of the New York auto show with this 2 person electric transporter that lies somewhere between a widen Segway and a shortened Rickshaw. Underway it balances on its hind wheels like a Segway scooter, but with 2 people looking goofy instead of just one. Imagine it costing around 4 grand and crawling urban areas, not highways for crying out loud. It tops out at 35 mph and does 35 miles on a single charge. GM and Segway make all kinds of analogies to the internet with the P.U.M.A. How they'll network using a telemetric version of On Star to keep track of each other and avoid collisions automatically while driving in tight efficient formations on crowded streets. No plans for production just yet. It might take a little while to warm the public up to this idea, but finally we have something the Smart Car can stare down. [ Music ]
