A preview of Sony's sleek Xperia S phone Video Transcript

Hi. I'm Ken Sherman, Section Editor for cnet.com. I'm coming to you from CES 2012 here at the CNET stage in Las Vegas. I wanna show you the Sony Xperia S. It's one of two phones that Sony announced here. Now, Sony Ericsson no longer a Sony. They dropped the Ericsson (??) so it's not a Sony. But we still have a lot of the stuff we've come to love from Sony phones like really good design, great display and some good multi media on this phone. So I'll walk you through a little bit of it. The design is very sleek. I did like it. (??) cool you can actually stand the phone on it and so it stands up by itself. But it does have this nice curve backside so fits nicely in the hand. Really like how the phone feels. Also has a little bit of a nice material on the back. it's not quite soft touch. Doesn't feel like a cheap plastic actually. It's (??) comfortable feel. One thing that's unique about this design it does have the (??) bar again at the bottom now. It's almost transparent. I guess you call it a peg because if you hold it up to window you can actually see the light through. But wholesome antenna components and it also lights up. It does display some touch controls which are actually right above. Sony is saying that this one is all about its iconic identity design so what that means is that they have added some things into the display. You can see the sort of flowing interface that sets it apart from some other Xperia phones. The phone is running on Gingerbread and will be upgradable by ice cream sandwich at some point. Nice display 4.3 inches 720p resolution. It is Sony's reality display and it's really good video like the photo view finder, you do have a 12 megapixel camera on the back that is a 1080p resolution. You have a second camera around front. You can use that for vanity shots or for video calling. That is a 720p resolution. It does have Sony's timescape interface. It takes your contacts, includes all their communication and just sort of flip card interface, you can just flow right through it. Camera, one thing interesting is it does have 1.5 seconds between shots. So it's a very very quick shutter and this is the highest resolution camera on an Android phone at the moment. The phone does have an HDMI port . You see that here above the volume rocker and a camera shutter. Up top is a power control and the 3.5 millimeter headset jack. The media really looks great but I just really like the design. I like the multi media features on this phone. And hopefully, we'll get it up to Ice Cream Sandwich very soon. I'm (Ken Churman?) here at CES 2012 with the Sony Xperia App.
