>> Fans of XM Radio now have a new option when they want to take their content on the go. I'm Jasmine France and I'm here with the Pioneer Inno XMP3 which is a portable XM satellite receiver, as well as an MP3 player. It does have some built-in memory for you to transfer your own content MP3s and WMAs. It has about a gigabyte for that. It also has a microSD card slot if you wanna add more content up here on the top. Now as far as the XM compatibility goes you can schedule and save up to 75 hours with the recording, you can scrub back 30 minutes or ahead 30 minutes during the XM broadcast. All the normal features you would expect to see in an XM Radio in a nice portal package. It has a nice color screen, a scroll wheel control on the front, as well as track forward and rewind buttons. And of course on top you have the necessary XM antenna for receiving the broadcast, as well as the standard 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. Now the XMP3 comes as a variety of accessories that can help you use it at home or in the car or on the go. First you have the cradle and the remote and the audio cable, which will allow you to connect it to your home audio system. Then you have an extended satellite antenna for better reception in the car. You also have a wall work power adapter for charging the player with AC power as well as the USB cable which allows you to transfer content from your computer. Now because of all the stuff that's included and because you have the additional functionality of being an XM Radio and MP3 player it does cost more than what you would expect from the traditional MP3 player with about 1 to 2 gigabyte of space and that's gonna be 279.99 for the entire package. But if you're looking for something that super compact, so you can listen to XM on the go in your car and just want one thing to use everywhere, this will do it, Pioneer Inno XMP3. I'm Jasmine France for CNET. ^M00:01:39 [ Music ]

Pioneer XMP3 Review

The good: The Pioneer XMP3 is compact and easy to use; the screen is a good size and the interface is graphically pleasing; the package includes handy accessories for using the device at home; it supports high-capacity microSD cards.

The bad: The Pioneer XMP3's on-the-go reception is not always spot-on, and there's no album art display for library music. No photo or video viewing.

The bottom line: The Pioneer XMP3 experiences the signal hiccups typical of portable satellite radio receivers, but it's super compact, easy to use, and packed with handy recording features, making it a suitable choice for XM subscribers looking for an on-the-go solution.
