Panasonic trots out new Viera TVs Video Transcript
-So Panasonic will launch a total of 32 HDTV models this year, 16 plasmas and 16 LED models ranging in screen sizes from 42 to 65-inch class in our plasma line and 32-inch to 65-inch in LED. In addition to the advance networking and increased connectivity features, this year's lineup continues our leadership in picture quality and introduces stunning design elements that you'll see on the models both here on the stage as well as at our booth. So, our plasma lineup is led by the new flagship Smart Viera ZT series and the next generations of our award-winning Smart Viera VT and ST series. So in addition to its legendary image quality, which video files have praised generously, our 2013 VT series plasma features the My Home Screen technologies that we discussed before as well as the face recognition and voice interaction. Our LED lineup is led by the next generations of our Smart Viera WT and DT series HDTVs. And this year, the flagship of our LED line, the Smart Viera WT series also features the personalization options that we highlighted earlier. The Smart Viera WT and DT series featured the enhanced IPS panel technology, which delivers a wide viewing angle with almost no picture degradation, twice backlight scanning, improved contrast ratio and finer local control for dimming, all combined to deliver crisp and superior picture quality with improved color accuracy.

Panasonic TC-P55VT50 Review
The good: The Panasonic TC-PVT50 series produces some of the best pictures ever, with exceedingly deep black levels, highly accurate color, and perfect screen uniformity and off-angle performance. It can get brighter than competing plasmas and performs better in well-lit rooms. Although expensive, it costs much less than comparable LED and especially forthcoming OLED models. Its styling makes it as attractive as any plasma TV I've ever seen.
The bad: The VT50 isn't as strong in terms of value as Panasonic's excellent midtier plasmas. It uses more power than competing LCD TVs, and doesn't perform as well in bright rooms as those with matte screens. It doesn't come with 3D glasses and its 3D picture shows more crosstalk than that of some competing TVs.
The bottom line: The Panasonic TC-PVT50 series represents the pinnacle of current flat-panel TV picture quality.
