>> Hi, I'm Senior Editor, David Katzmaier from CNET.com and this is the Panasonic TH58PX600U. This is a 58 inch flat panel plasma tv. As you can see, it's definitely thin but it's also very, very large. This is essentially one great big pane of glass here. Panasonic broke up the styling a little bit by giving it a two tone silver and black color which is kinda slick. One of the nicest things about the styling is on the side here, these speakers, actually only about an inch wide around the edge. But it's still very imposing television. Of course, Panasonic includes the matching silver stand which by itself weighs about 50 pounds. So all in all, it's a very large tv. If you're gonna wall mount it, you definitely wanna get a professional to help you with that. Internally this tv has plenty of features. There's a tv guide function in addition to cable cards if you wanna skip the cable box, you can go ahead and install cable card system and use tv guide to change the channels and everything exactly like you have a cable box with the grid and all of that. So it's a nice replacement for a cable box. The tv also includes a good selection of features to adjust the picture quality. When you look around back, this tv has plenty of connectivity including two HDMI inputs, two component video inputs and a PC input so you can direct a computer directly to the plasma. When we took the Panasonic into the lab we were generally very impressed by it's picture quality. It's one of the better performing large screen plasma tv's we've seen recently. It's got very nice deep black levels and also a pretty accurate color straight out of the box and we were able to adjust the picture quality very nicely. It's also got very little video noise. That's one of the things we've seen on other large screen plasma tv's that this one didn't have. So overall, picture quality on this 58 inch plasma was extremely good. Anyway that's a quick look at the Panasonic TH58PX600U and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:46 [ Music ]
