>> Hey everyone I'm Jeff Bakalar assistant editor here at CNET.com and I'm here today with the Panasonic SC PT650. The PT650 is a home theatre in a box, comes with a five disc DVD player. In terms of design, everything's well laid out on the front of the unit. You'll have control for all five disc in the DVD player. Also on the front of the unit, you'll find a music port that will basically accept any device that has a line in the jack. The remotes laid out pretty well it's not to overwhelming or confusing. The unit is XM ready which will let you hook up your XM antenna to the system and then you get your XM radio out of the speakers which is a nice feature. As far as inputs are concerned that's the only thing you'll really be able to do because the 650 doesn't come with any sort of input whatsoever. The only video that you will be watching is the DVD video. The up scaling that the 650 provides is not good. We actually recommend taking the four 480I signal that this puts out and just letting your TV up scale that. You'll probably get a better picture that way. The unit comes with an iPod dock which lets you hook up any dock compatible iPod that you may have, except for the third generation iPod. The unit also gives you the option to take advantage of wireless speakers. You have to buy an additional amplifier that is actually included in the step up version of the unit. Over all the 650 has a good price, good sound. If you're obsessed with video, you might want to look for a different home theatre in a box. But, overall, the value of this unit is pretty good. I'm Jeff Bakalar and this has been the Panasonic SC PT650. ^M00:01:53 [ Music ]
