>> Josh Goldman: Hey I'm Josh Goldman here at CDS 2010 and this is a first look at Panasonic Lumix FH20. The FH is a new series for Panasonic this year and the FH20 is the top of that line. It features an 8X wide angle zoom lens packed into a fairly compact body. On back is a 2.7 inch LCD. It also shoots HD video as do all of the FH series cameras. Panasonics also been very conscious of increasing performance on their compact cameras lately and the FH series is no different. They've increased auto focus feeds, shutter lag and start up time across the line. All in all it looks like it's gonna be a pretty good camera and the entire series looks pretty strong. I'm Josh Goldman and that's a look at the Panasonic Lumix FH20.
Simple and satisfying, Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FH27 is an excellent point-and-shoot value.
Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FH20 is a very good value for those in need of a basic point-and-shoot with a midrange zoom.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30K is an 8-megapixel, point-and-shoot camera. Compared to other point-and-shoot digital cameras on the market, it is expensive at around $565. Includes ArcSoft PhotoImpression, ArcSoft Panorama Maker, LUMIX simple viewer, ArcSof
For those after a long-zoom camera that falls in between a point-and-shoot and digital-SLR experience, look no further.
At CES 2008 Natali del Conti takes a look at this 10-megapixel digital camera that also shoots HD video.
If you're willing to pay a premium to be on the cutting edge of digital photography and video, and as long as you don't shoot sports or in dark venues, then you'll likely love the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1.
If you're looking for a camera that's not quite as big as a dSLR but doesn't skimp on hardware controls or features like an articulated LCD, EVF and stereo full HD video, the G3 is a great option. But performance is hit-and-miss for shooting action, so you may end up having to go with something just a bit bigger, anyway.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, electronics maker Panasonic shows ZDNet's David Coursey a tiny device that incorporates voice recorder, video camcorder, MP3 player and digital camera.
A basic ultracompact point-and-shoot with a touch screen, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP3 can outshoot the average camera phone.
GPS and fast shooting performance make the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3 a worthy rugged point-and-shoot even if its photos and videos aren't the sharpest.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 (Silver) Review
The good: Easy to use; flexible lens in a compact metal body; very good value for features, performance, and photo quality.
The bad: Feature set might be too basic for some.
The bottom line: Panasonic's Lumix DMC-FH20 is a very good value for anyone in need of a basic point-and-shoot with a midrange zoom.
