>> Hi, this is Bonnie Cha, senior associate editor, CNET.com and today we're taking a first look at that Palm Treo 750. This is going to be available through Cingular and it's a Windows based Treo. And you can see that it has the new more compact form factor. And that's basically thanks to the integrated antenna. We've got the 700P here, so you can see the difference. Overall though, other than the antennas, pretty much the same size, but it does feel a little bit lighter. And it also has this nice soft touch finish, so it kind of feels leathery and it's easier to grip. Has some nice, curved edges, so nice to hold and use as a phone. On the front here you have a 65000 color screen, but it has a lower resolution so it's not as sharp or as bright as some other Treos that we've seen. And the keyboard is a bit cramped as well, as compared to the Motorola Q and Samsung Blackjack that we've seen lately. Inside, like I said it's running Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC edition so you get the full Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, so you can edit and view Excel and Word documents as well as view Power Point presentations and PDF. On the back you've got a 1 point 3 mega pixel camera. It's also got integrated Bluetooth but no WIFI. It does work on Cingular's UMTS 3G network, so you'll get faster download speeds. But it doesn't support the HSPDA network as of yet. They do plan on releasing an upgrade later on. At launch, it will retail for about 399 with a two year contract, but for my money, I'd probably go ahead and spend the same amount of money on the Cingular 8525, you get a little bit more bang for your buck. I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been the Palm Treo 750. ^M00:01:37 [ Music ]

Palm Treo 750 - black (AT&T) Review

The good: The Palm Treo 750 sports a more compact design and comes with integrated Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and world phone capabilities. The Windows-based smart phone also works on Cingular's 3G UMTS network and has push e-mail and the new threaded chat view.

The bad: The Treo 750 will not support Cingular's HSPDA network at launch and doesn't have integrated Wi-Fi. It also has a low-resolution screen and failed to meet the rated battery talk time.

The bottom line: The Palm Treo 750 includes some nice enhancements and offers good usability, but you can get more for your money with the Cingular 8525.
