Palm Centro (Verizon Wireless) Video Transcript

>>[Background music] Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha, senior editor at CNET.com and today we are taking a first look at the Palm Centro from Verizon Wireless. It's pretty much like with Sprint and AT&T versions that are available now, but it comes in this beautiful cobalt blue color, actually probably my favorite out of all of them. Get the same compact design, it's really nice and slim, but the trade off is the keyboard's a little bit cramped, so if you have larger thumbs you might have some problems, but you got a nice little touch screen here which is great and the palm device is just easy to use, so if your a first time buyer it will pretty easy to pick up and use right out of the box. As far as features, it's got an older operating system, but again, it's easy to use. It's got Bluetooth as well as, EVDO, so it's great news. Doesn't have WiFi, but the 3-D support will help make up for that. It's also got a 1.3 mega-pixel camera on the back and it actually takes pretty decent pictures and video, even though it's a low resolution then from the other smart phones. It's also got great email support. You can check your corporate email, as well as, your personal accounts. It's a great value at $99 with a two year contract. And again, it's a good smart phone for first time users or anyone who just wants a budget smart phone. Overall, great device, pretty good call quality, so I would say go ahead and get it.

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens Review

The good: Optical image stabilization delivers sharper handheld photos at slow shutter speeds; lightweight, compact, and affordably priced; good optics for its class.

The bad: Poor manual focus ring design; plastic construction less desirable than metal; 55mm maximum focal length may leave you short.

The bottom line: The Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS kit lens is a solidly performing medium-zoom lens, with good optics and image stabilization, that will appeal to more than just the entry-level crowd.
