>>Hey folks Brian Cooley here in a 2009 Mercedes GL320 with Mercedes latest advanced head unit, hard drive based nav unit with Bluetooth, I'm gonna show you how to pair your phone to it in just a couple quick steps. Now first of all go to the telephone function right here. And then go down to the phone option in the lower left using your directional pad. Open that and go to Bluetooth phones and then hit update. Now let's start searching for Bluetooth phones. You want to make sure you've got Bluetooth turned on on your phone of course. Now notice this head unit is reaching out for a device so I had to put my phone in the listen mode, listen for a connection, and now I enter a pass code, now that I see that MB Bluetooth has popped up, which is Mercedes Benz Bluetooth. Now in this case with the Blackberry Bold I'm getting some problem communicating in this manner where the head units reaching out for the phone. If you have that problem on your phone here's the other way to do it. This is important to know. This method is using external authorization, again from the same phone menu and down to Bluetooth phones you go to options, external authorization, hit that and now you go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone. In this case you're telling your phone to search for the head unit. So you're basically going the other direction, external authorization to the car. There is my MB Bluetooth, I select that. Now it's gonna ask for a pass code and I'm just gonna punch in 1234 in this case. Now on the card screen it wants to know is it ok to accept that phone, I hit yes. It wants the pass code I just put in. I'll use the numb pad up here for that and then ok it. One more ok on my Bold to say I accept the connection and it's successful on both the screen and the phone and we're all set. [background music] So two ways, depending which way you want to authorize, to pair your Bluetooth phone in a current Mercedes hard drive based command head unit. It's very simple. [ Music ]
