>> Hey folks Brian Cooley here in this '09 Land Rover LR2, the baby Land Rover, but I'm here to show you the easy how-to steps to pair your Bluetooth phone with the standard audio rig. Bluetooth is standard in this vehicle, similar process for some other Land Rover products and some Jaguars that have this head unit so if that looks familiar to you, these steps should apply. So here we go. Now the phone button right here is big and easy to get to and it's a great way to start pairing a phone. If there's no phone paired, it says would you like to pair one, absolutely. Just press the enter knob for yes. It says here make sure Bluetooth is on, on your phone that's the next thing we'll do. And here on my Blackberry, for example, that's easy to do right here. If the Land Rover starts to search, okay now you know you've got the right phone because it will spell out the name and model or whatever the phone queries back to it. Press again, OK to say that's the one I want, there's your PIN number generated randomly each time so don't bother writing it down. It's done each time you do a pairing. Enter that on your phone, and hit OK on the phone, and now you'll see you're connecting here on the screen and on many phones you have to make one final confirmation that yes you want it to connect with the car. And there you go--success here, success here, you see the name of the phone, you're all set to go. Now some other options to deal with Bluetooth in the phone mode, hit menu. You can see you've got some call menus in here to see missed, received and dialed calls that will be echoed over from the phone as you use it in here. The other important choice here is the Bluetooth menu which allows you to remove a phone; that's important sometimes especially if someone gusted [assumed spelling] into your car, or you've tapped out the number of phones you can use. You simply go down to remove phone, select the one you want, we just have one here right now and just punch it twice to say yes I want to remove it. There's no phone left, that's it, we're done. Now that synchronizing statement tells you what's being synchronized in terms of phone book to the car. That will vary by phone model and of course some phones are officially supported on this vehicle--others aren't. You'll want to know that before you buy one of these cars and have your heart set on perfect synchronization. Now once you've got a phone paired, you've got the phone menu there from that button; you've also got your basic pickup and drop call buttons up here on the wheel as well. So that's your basic easy how-to to pair, unpair and manage a Bluetooth phone in this '09 Land Rover LR2, other Land Rovers and some Jag products.
