>> Brian Cooley here in the 2009 BMW 750Li. And I've got a quick how-to for you on pairing and using your wireless phone with the Bluetooth ring on this car and similar BMW's that have the new second generation BMW iDrive system. Easiest way to get started is go to the telephone button, which is right here on the controller, add a new phone, as an easy obvious indication when you want to add a new phone. That's the nice thing about expensive cars. Things work pretty well. And it tells you right there how to do this. Go to your phone, whatever kind of phone you've got, and tell it to start searching for the car. So you initiate the search there. And this will vary by phone, of course. But on a BlackBerry, it's right there when you go to search. And that tells you what the system is named. BMW 57068, some inexplicable little bit of gibberish. But that's what you're looking for. Now, from the phone, you enter what your password is going to be. I'll just use 1234, or your pass key, as it's called, and press for each number you want. And then down here to OK it. Now, there's an interest in confirmations between your phone and the car itself. And the car will tell you if we're good. Yeah, and there's my phone connected. Now, to use the phone, again, go to the telephone menu button, and here are all your choices; from dialing a number, which you can do, again, with that same controller you used to enter the pass key, or you've got phonebook functionality here, anything from received calls to redialing calls you've already made or accessing numbers in your phonebook. Transferring data can take a while if you've got a lot of context on your phone, by the way. Don't get freaked out if it takes more than a few moments. This card does not have A2DP Bluetooth streaming. So when you make the connection, you're doing a hands-free phone call thing, not the ability to stream from the phone wirelessly to the head unit. The other major thing here is how do you take a phone out once you've got it in? Go to the phone you've got, press the option button, and here you have remove phone from list. Now, that's real quick. Same thing for the other phones you've got listed. And when you view that, you're also removing your contact information that was part of that phone pairing with the car. So it's a nice way to get your personal numbers out of a vehicle you've paired with. So that's how you pair a phone, make calls, use redial functions and uncouple a phone from this iDrive unit in a 2009 BMW 750Li and similar BMWs with the latest generation iDrive head unit. ^M00:02:29 [ Music ]
