>> Hi, there, I'm Natali Del Conte with CNET TV, and I'm getting a new iPhone today.
>> So here's my old iPhone, this is my new one and we're about to activate it out of the box with my friend, Jake. ^M00:00:12 [ Music ] ^M00:00:18
>> First, the iPhone activation is a lot different this time then the process for last year's model.
>> And don't forget you have to agree to a two-year contract and the new costlier data plans. So this is taking about a minute, the device is sending my phone number, my zip code and my last four digits of my social security number and basically deactivating my old phone. I don't know what I'm going to do with it and sending it to my new phone. Let's take it out of the box.
>> The actual process of opening it. ^M00:00:44 [ Music ] ^M00:00:47
>> Walla [assumed spelling].
>> Okay, [inaudible] take it out. ^M00:00:51 [ Music ] ^M00:00:55
>> Inside, you'll find a SIM eject tool, a black cloth to keep your brand new iPhone 3G clean and extra small USB charger, USB cable and a standard pair of headphones, plug in your iPhone and you should be ready to go.
>> Apple servers are being a bit hammered so it might take a second. All right, success, the iPhone is ready to go and so am I. So I have to go home and plug it into my home computer because I don't have MobileMe just yet and it'll take all my contacts and all my games and all my applications and all my music and movies and all that stuff... So let's get out of here. ^M00:01:27 [ Music ]
