Orbit Downloader is a free alternative to your browser's built-in file downloader, but it's also known for capturing streaming media from pretty much any social site, like YouTube, MySpace, Yahoo Music -- you get the picture. Orbit Downloader works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Maxthon and Opera Browsers. Depending on which browser you're using, you will either see a GetIt Button when you hover the mouse over the video or song. Or you'll see a gray arrow icon. Of course you can fish for downloads too by dropping the URL into a download field from the apps main interface. Orbit Downloader has a pretty extensive preferences menu where you'll choose where you want all those downloads saved. You will also be able to schedule the downloads and even scan files with your anti-virus app. Of course scanning files is a lot slower, but it's worth it for those who like their computing extra safe. This is really an app best suited for frequent downloaders especially people who just love their videos. Most ordinary users are honestly not gonna have as much use for it, but since it's free, and not very large, it's not a bad thing to try it out.
