>> Jeff: Hey, what's going on everyone I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com today we're looking at the Nyko Wing Wireless Classic Controller. Now, when Nintendo launched the Wii back in November of 2006 many gamers were thrilled that they'd be able to download and play old school games via the system's virtual console. Nintendo offered a classic style controller that would offer compatibility across the board with any game you decided to play, however that controller wasn't as comfortable as we wanted and it also forced you to be tethered to a Wii remote at all times. With the Nyko Wing Wireless Classic Controller we now have a wireless and much more comfortable ergonomically designed controller; this is mainly due to the controller's grip. Syncing the Wing is easy; you just plug in the wireless diagonal adapter to your Wii remote, press the sync button and then power on the Wing Controller. It took us a few times to get them to handshake at first but once we got them to connect it was never a problem again in the future. The Wing has all the same buttons as the Nintendo original but it provides a much more practical design. It does, however, require 2 triple A batteries which are included but if you choose to use rechargeable triple A's the Wing has a USB port that'll actually allow you to charge them while they're still inside the controller. We tried out the Wing with games like Super Mario 64, Megaman 9, and Sonic the Hedgehog and we definitely preferred playing them on the Wing over the Nintendo Classic Controller. Overall we're really impressed with this controller, it improves on the Nintendo classic in almost every way and we really recommend it for anyone who loves playing games on the Wii Virtual Console. I'm Jeff Bakalar and this has been the Nyko Wing Classic Wireless Controller. ^E00:01:53

Nyko Wing Wireless Classic Controller Review

The good: Wireless classic-styled controller; great ergonomic design; allows for recharging of AAA batteries via USB port; USB also allows for play without batteries.

The bad: Syncing may take a few tries.

The bottom line: The Nyko Wing Wireless Classic Controller is a must-have accessory for Wii owners who play a lot of Virtual Console games as it improves on the Nintendo original in almost every way.
