>> Hey, I'm Tom Merritt from CNET.com here at CES 2009 taking a look at the GeForce 3D vision gaming for a pro. This is a way to play your video games in 3D. Now, there's a lot of people out there trying to do it. This is how NVIDIA is doing it. You get these glasses. They are $199 and available starting Thursday of CES. You hook up this transmitter to your computer, you get a video game that will actually do this and then you turn on the glasses here. When you get the little green light, pop them on -- they're not as bad as the old red and blue ones from the Hollywood movie days of the 50's and then you'll be able to see the screen in 3D. It works with several games. We've got Left 4 Dead in here, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is already working with this and if you could see -- you can't see the 3D, but you can see the separation, so it's not that little weird blue and red things that the old way used to work. What's happening is the signal coming from this special 120 Hertz monitor hits the glasses and there's a little processor inside the glasses that is producing the 3D effect for you. So it's called active 3D. You'll hear a polarize glasses which is what almost everybody else is doing. That's a different kind of 3D technology. Samsung and ViewSonic are expected to announce 120 Hertz monitors at CES. You can also use a DLP TV or even a screen that has a TI Light chip including some projectors. Now, it's $199 like I said for the box. You can use an unlimited number of glasses though to all your friends can plunk down for that. You'll be able to do a LAN party this way. You can also control the 3D amount from here, so if you got a party doing Call of Duty for instance, you wanna get some more accurate shooting you can change the depth of the 3D with this controller right here. USB charging for the glasses they say one charge will take about an hour and last about 40 to 50 hours, so that's good for your LAN party as well.
