>> I'm Robert Vamosi, senior editor for CNET and this is a first look at Norton 360. Norton 360 is a brand new all in one security and PC utility product from Symantec. Norton 360 includes two gigabytes of free online backup storage that's something that Windows Live One Care does not provide. This is a great value. Norton 360 will identify security deficiencies and either fix them while you sleep or walk you through the process of securing your PC yourself. We start with a complete scan of our machine, we select tools from Norton Internet Security and Norton Confidential. This is an actual scan, it was not speeded up for the purposes of this video. Norton 360 includes anti-phishing tools that protect you from online fraud sites. In addition to security, there are tools for PC tune up. Here Symantec has taken the best tools from Norton Systemworks and Norton Confidential. In just a few moments, we have now secured and optimized our desktop PC. At eighty dollars for up to three PC?s, Norton 360 is best for the average user who just wants to protect their PC. More advanced users however will want to go to Tasks and Settings where you'll find ways to create new firewalls and tweak existing backup and restore settings. You can also review a report of everything that Norton 360 has done on your machine. On technical support, Symantec has listened to past complaints and made several improvements. Norton 360 will self-diagnose problems and offer FAQ?s based on its findings. Or you can lead the help requests yourself by drilling down through a series of questions. The in-program help menu is more than adequate, although we found the Quick Guide to be a bit too cursory. And there's also free live chat, free email and telephone support at ten dollars per incident. This has been a first look at Norton 360, I'm Robert Vamosi. ^M00:01:52 [ Music ]

Norton 360 Review
The good: Norton 360 is mercifully light on system resources; it's intuitive, covers most of the bases that a comprehensive security-and-performance tool should, and includes free online storage.
The bad: Norton 360 doesn't support Firefox or Opera browsers; doesn't include wireless security tools, doesn't provide an ID vault for passwords or credit card info.
The bottom line: For home and student use, we think Norton 360 represents the best value for ease of use, tools offered, and overall system performance. We recommend it over McAfee Total Protection and Microsoft Windows Live OneCare.
