>> Hi, this is Bonnie Cha, senior associate editor at CNET.com and today we are taking a first look at the Nokia N800 Internet tablet. Some of you might be wondering what an Internet tablet is and it's not a PDA or a laptop replacement, or a smart phone, it's actually just a mobile device that lets you browse the web on the go, it also can make voice calls and instant message and also has some multimedia capabilities. As far as design, this is an upgrade to the Nokia 770 and it's slimmer, it's also lighter, so it's nice to carry, also the built in this little kickstand so you can set it on the desk and view web pages that way. On the front you have a beautiful screen, it's really sharp and crisp so it's great to be the web pages, very cool thing on the device is built in web cam, also rotates 180 degrees so you can view it in front of you and in back. As I said before it has web browsing and it has an excellent web browser, it's Opera eight and it supports flash videos, it also has an RSS news feeder so you can get the latest headlines delivered to your device like every 15 minutes, or whatever you want. There is also a media player, music and video, I however the speaker isn't all that great and videos were a little spotty. And the N800 probably isn't for everybody, more geared towards the techies and gadget lovers so if you are into this, it will be about 400 dollars at launch and it's available now. I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been the Nokia N800 Internet tablet. ^M00:01:28 [ Music ]

Nokia N800 Internet Tablet Review

The good: The Nokia N800 Internet Tablet has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for accessing the Web on the go and comes with an outstanding browser. It also features a built-in Webcam, a sleeker design, a gorgeous screen, and improved performance. Other goodies include VoIP support, instant messaging, an RSS news reader, a media player, and dual expansion slots.

The bad: Unfortunately, the video playback on the N800 was subpar, and there is no PC synchronization. The N800 also relies solely on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity.

The bottom line: Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.
