>> Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha, senior associate editor at CNET.com and today we're taking a first look at the Nokia E65. It's one smart phone that I'm actually really excited about. It offers this really nice slider phone design which I haven't seen in a lot of phones and we've seen the full QWERTY keyboard slide out. But this is nice and compact and it feels like a cell phone. There are a couple down sides to the compact form factor. The navigation keys on the front are really small and hard to use. I pressed a lot of the wrong buttons. Also, there are some shortcut keys on the side that are also hard to use but there's one for a voice recorder and text entry and then a volume rocker. The E65 is more focused on voice features so here in front you've got one touch access to conference calling and muting call, and your address book. It also supports VoIP calls as well. When you slide it up, there is a numerical keypad as well. The numerical keypad is easier to use, it has larger buttons as well and without the QWERTY keyboard it's obviously not a good email device but you can do some quick emails if you want as well as text messaging. Again, a Simian smart phone so you get all the productivity tools such as an office viewer, however you do need to upgrade to a different version of the software for editing capabilities. There is a two megapixel camera but there is no flash so photos came out a little bit dark, but it does offer great voice quality. The E65 hasn't been picked up by US carriers so unfortunately you'll have to pay about five hundred dollars to get in on that version of this phone. I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been the Nokia E65. ^M00:01:33 [ Music ]

Nokia E65 (Unlocked) Review
The good: The Nokia E65 smart phone boasts a beautiful and compact slider design, and features a 2-megapixel camera, e-mail, and productivity apps. It also offers good call quality and solid talk time battery life, and has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
The bad: The E65 doesn't support document editing out of the box, and the lack of a full QWERTY keyboard makes it less than ideal for e-mail. It's occasionally slow, and there's no flash for the camera. The front and side navigation controls are also small and hard to use. There's no support for U.S. 3G networks.
The bottom line: With the exception of a couple of design flaws, the sexy slider Nokia E65 is a good voice-centric Symbian smart phone that also offers various wireless options and productivity tools.
