>> Hi. I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today, we're gonna take a First Look at the Nokia 7610 Supernova. Now, Nokia already put out a phone called 7610 a few years ago. This is the same number, but they just added Supernova on the end, and this phone is radically different from that other one. It's a slider design. It's much smaller, and it shows a few years of cell phone design evolution as well. It is a quad band GSM phone, so it will work around the world. It isn't offered with a US carrier, though, so you'll have to buy it here unlocked. As I said, it is a slider design, somewhat thin. Nokia never hugely got on the thin phone train, but this phone is a little bit slim. You can replace the back cover. I have a red here, but there are other colors you can use. On the front, the border is sort of a dark gray and then the display is bright. It's reflective. It does fingerprints and smudges, but the quality of the display itself is pretty good. It's 16.7 million colors, so graphics and photos and everything look pretty rich. And the menus are easy to understand as well. Below, you'll see just the navigation controls, pretty spacious and easy to use. The back of the phone is styled somewhat to resemble a stand-alone camera. If you hold in the horizontal position, some of the keys up here do mimic those of a camera. Slide the phone. It's a pretty sturdy slider mechanism. We could do it with one hand, but locks into place on either side. It doesn't feel too loose. Keypad controls are a little bit slick, pretty slippery, so when we were dialing and texting, we just had to be careful not to make a mistake. Features include a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player, Blu-tooth, FM radio, organizer applications, messaging, and basic email. So as a multimedia phone with an attractive design, it does a pretty good job. I'm Kent German, and this is the Nokia 7610 Supernova. ^M00:01:41 [ Music ]

Nokia 7610 Supernova Review
The good: The Nokia 7610 Supernova offers a functional midrange feature set, an attractive design, and acceptable performance.
The bad: The Nokia 7610 Supernova's keypad is flat and slippery, and the memory card is behind the battery cover. The volume level is low.
The bottom line: The Nokia 7610 Supernova is an attractive cell phone with a fun feature set. We have a few complaints, but its performance makes up for any flaws.
