>> Hi I'm Kent German, Senior Editor at CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Nokia 7500 Prism. This is an unlocked phone so it's not available with the U.S. carrier at the moment. This phone is called The Prism, not because it's made of glass and it certainly doesn't refract any light but it is called The Prism because it has the triangular shaped keys down here, and has a triangular pattern here on the back of the phone. So it is pretty striking overall, it's kind of fashionable, but I didn't think that the keys really were that user-friendly so that design does come at a bit of a price. The phone is pretty thin, Nokia has never been one to be completely on the thin phone bandwagon; it feels pretty good in the hand as well, not too heavy. It does have a blue ring here around the sides. You can actually take this off and you can put on different colored rings; I think there's a green, there's a red, so you can add a touch of personalization to the phone. The display is pretty nice. Nokia does a good job with their displays most of the time, and it's pretty bright and colorful. Like I said the keypad buttons weren't the easiest to use, they were pretty slick, just kind of felt a little weird when pressing; it didn't have the greatest push feel that you like to get when you press down a button. Also the odd shapes intersecting like that can be a little confusing to text quickly or to dial quickly. The joystick is above the surface of the phone so it's definitely tactile and you can find it if you're trying to dial by feel, but it is just felt a little stiff, my finger was constantly slipping off of it so again not too user accessible. Here on the top you do have a dedicated power key that's a very new Nokia feature, also supports here on the bottom for mini USB, for the charger and we have a volume rocker on this side. When I was on the phone, the volume rocker I found a little hard to press, a little hard to find, kind of slippery as well. Here we have a flash that's triangular shaped, a small speaker and the 2-megapixel camera lens. So overall it's a very attractive phone in a lot of ways, but just not completely user friendly as far as the keys go. I'm Kent German and this is the Nokia 7500 Prism. ^M00:01:51 [ Music ] ^M00:01:55
