>> Hi, I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we'll take a First Look at the Nokia1680. This is a new phone for T-mobile service. It's a very basic phone. It has a simple candy bar shape, just a basic black color here, very clean lines. There's just not a lot going on with this phone. It does feel a little cheap on the outside, just a plastic skin. I thought like it would break pretty easily. The display has pretty low resolution. I won't compare it with the other phones, no graphics and any kind of photos won't look very sharp. The display is also a little washed-out especially on the main menu. Features are pretty slim, just a VGA camera, messaging, really a very basic phone. Making calls and sending messages is what this is all about. The keypad and other navigation controls are covered on a little bit of a soft touch rubbery material, so they did feel nice beneath your finger and I liked that the navigation array is spacious. We have a couple of soft keys, Talk, End, Power key. No controls on the side, no volume rockers, so this just mean when you're on the phone you need to remove the phone from your face and control the volume using the toggle here. I found the phone had a very sensitive sweet spots, so if you move it away from your face just the tiniest bit, the volume which is already a bit low cuts out considerably, so you wanna be wary of that. Here in the side there only as a headset jack and a port for 2.2 millimeter headset, so really stripped down basic phone in that sense. This really is a phone for people that just need it once in a while. I'm Kent German and this is the Nokia 1680. ^M00:01:27 [ Music ]
