The Nissan TeRRA SUV Concept is hydrogen-powered and iPad-ready Video Transcript

-I'm Wayne Cunningham with the 2012 Paris Motor Show. I've been a fan of hydrogen fuel-cell stocks for powering electric cars for a long time and Nissan has not forgotten about that technology either. Here, they've got the TeRRA SUV Concept on the floor and this uses a hydrogen fuel-cell stock to power its electric drive motor. Nissan says that it's proprietary fuel cell stock in the car that it has been developing all these years. It's cheaper than ones in the past. So, this is actually pretty practical. They say they could sell this car today if the hydrogen filling structure was in place, which is not. Now, this is being a concept. It's got a lot of concept elements when the car looks a lot like Nissan Juke from 20 or 30 years in the future. It's got L.E.D. headlights and carriage doors and a wood interior, all those kind of concept of the stuff and one thing that's also concept, but also something that I think people think might happen in the future it uses the tablet like an iPad as the cars key and it's instrument cluster. The idea of being that you would pickup the tablet, you know, play angry birds at home or whatever-- whatever you wanna do when you wanna drive you take the tablet with you into the car mounted on the dock. It unlocks the car and access the inter math cluster and infotainment system. Once you're done driving, take it out of the car. The car locks down and you're done. It's probably something we'll see in the future. I'm Wayne Cunningham for CNET.
