Nikon Coolpix S6200 Video Transcript
Hey, I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor for CNET and this is a look at the Nikon Coolpix S6200. Now the big feature of the S6200 is its ultra wide angle lens and it's 10x zoom that's stuffed into a very tiny body. Everything else about it is pretty standard for its price. Shooting modes are all automatic and you get a bunch of scene modes and some creative shooting options as well and at some you can apply after you shoot. Controls are basic and easy to learn and you get a one touch button for recording movie clips, and the zoom does work while shooting. Now, as for photo quality, it's 16 megapixel resolution means little. The photos are generally soft and noisy when viewed at full size and those things are only increased when you have less light. Like a lot of sub $200 point-and-shoot, it's best used with plenty of light. The camera shooting performances somewhat slowed too, that's partly because the camera seems (autofocusely?) challenged. Basically, if you need a simple pocket camera with a wide long lens for casual snapshots of still subjects in good lighting, this is an option. I'm Josh Goldman and that's the Nikon Coolpix S6200.

As long as you have plenty of light, the Nikon Coolpix L120 is a nice camera for snapshooters in love with long lenses.
Despite a few flaws, this is a good digital camera for starter snapshooters who crave simplicity and a helping hand but don't want to sacrifice picture quality.
A 24x optical zoom makes this crossover camera a good alternative to a dSLR, but its lack of HD video shooting hurts.
There's a lot to like about the Nikon Coolpix P100, but you'll need to keep your photo quality expectations in check to really enjoy it.
The Nikon Coolpix S630 puts a little extra zoom in your pocket, but you might not find the high-resolution photos it shoots out pleasurable.
The Nikon Coolpix P510 is easy to recommend for its features, photos, and performance, but the usefulness of a 42x zoom lens is debatable.
Nikon Coolpix S6200 (Red) Review
The good: The Nikon Coolpix S6200 packs an ultrawide-angle lens with a 10x zoom into a very small body, but still remains comfortable and easy to use.
The bad: The S6200's autofocus and overall shooting performance are mediocre.
The bottom line: The Nikon Coolpix S6200 is not exceptional in any way, but casual snapshooters in need of a pocket-friendly 10x zoom camera should check it out.
