Nikon Coolpix S4000 Video Transcript

I'm Josh Goldman senior editor for CNET reviews and this absolutely Nikon Coolpix S 4000. Priced at less than 200 dollars X twelve megapixel ultra compact cameras main attractions. -- wide angle lens with a four X zoom and a large three inch touch screen LCD. Since touch screen is used for most functions there are few physical controls. On tops power button and shutter release with -- zoom ring. And then on back are shooting mode and play buttons but that it. Thankfully the screen is responsive and menus and shooting options open quickly with little no lag. If you don't -- during the screen with fingerprints stylus is included. That kind makes good use of the touch interface -- allowing you to do things like -- -- activate it tracking auto focus. And draw or write on photos. All at all using the screen is good experience. What we didn't enjoy was the rest of the camera performance particularly the auto focus system which seems really inconsistent. It's possible to get shots there and focus but it regularly took several attempts shooting performance is also pretty slow even in bright lighting. Photo quality is okay typical the lower end point and shoot good when you have a lot of light but indoors or in low light conditions it's fairly mediocre. If -- shots are destined for the win or four by six inch prints it should suffice though. I'm Josh Goldman and that's a look at the Nikon Coolpix S with.
