The new flagship Xperia Z1S Video Transcript
Hi, this is Brian Bennett for CNET and right now we're taking a first look at the Xperia Z1S. Essentially, this is the new flagship Smartphone for T-Mobile in the US and it is a follow up on to the Sony Xperia Z1 and that device was available [unk] in Europe globally. Now this device is available on T-Mobile. It would be the flagship device for T-Mobile in the US. So what's interesting about the Xperia Z1S is that it's available on T-Mobile and will connect to T-Mobile's 4G LTE network. It's different from the global version of the Z1. Essentially, this device is an American device and will connect to the LTE networks that you'll find in the US over T-Mobile. So what's really nice is you have a very large 5-inch screen. It's Full HD. It's LCD. It's also running Android 4.3 Jellybean. And also it comes with a Snapdragon 800 Processor which is pretty much the fastest processor you can get right now on a Smartphone. The camera has been up to 20 megapixels. It was 13 megapixels in the original Z1. It's thin. It has a very glossy, glassy look. It's also waterproof and it actually now is more waterproof than the Z1. It now is able to be submerged in a 4.5 feet for 30 minutes as opposed to just 3 feet for 30 minutes. It is waterproof but Sony does make a point that you have to close the rubber ports on the phone otherwise it won't be [unk]. So right now we don't have pricing yet for the Xperia Z1S, though we do know it should begin shipping by the end of January 2014. I'm Brian Bennett for CNET.com and we've just took a first look at the Xperia Z1S for T-Mobile.

Sony Xperia Z1 S (T-Mobile) Review
The good: The Sony Xperia Z1S has a striking, waterproof design, a fast processor, and a feature-packed camera that takes quality pictures.
The bad: The Xperia Z1S' screen pales in comparison with other flagship smartphones' displays. The handset’s glass chassis feels slippery and collects prints and smudges easily.
The bottom line: The Xperia Z1S is the most impressive smartphone Sony has ever sold on any carrier, but an inferior screen makes Samsung's Galaxy handsets better deals.Read full review
