>> Hi, I'm Kent German, Senior editor for CNET.com. I'm here at CTIA 2008 in Las Vegas. The show is all about cell phones and I wanna show you one of the newest announcements today. This is the Motorola Z9. The news here is that it is coming to AT&T. It is a slider phone. It has the same mahogany color as AT&T's Razr2 V9. There's a nice thin profile here. The main display is really nice, it's 262,000-colors, it's pretty bright and colorful. I notice that the interface is just the tiniest bit sluggish. It is a very generic Motorola design as far as the menus go. The slider mechanism actually feels quite nice. It pops up very nicely, really sturdy, it moves up and down with one hand, but you don't feel like it's too loose and also snaps into place well. The toggle is very similar to what we've seen in other Motorola phones. Just round, raised just above the surface of the phone. A couple of things interesting about the side controls, they do give up that Haptics vibrating touch. So that's nice when you're talking on the phone. You're trying to find the volume button and you can't find it there and you know you're actually pressing something. You see a 2-megapixel camera right here? There is a flash as well. On this phone is also a stereo Bluetooth, there's a music player, and it is Motorola's first phone to support AT&T's Video Share and this is the first phone at all to support AT&T's new AT&T Navigation. On the whole, nice features, the design is nice, but doesn't break too much ground on that design department. I'm Kent German, at CTIA in Las Vegas, and this is the Motorola Z9. ^M00:01:21 [ Music ]

Motorola Z9 (AT&T) Review
The good: The Motorola Z9 has a sharp design, a generous feature set, and satisfying music and video quality. But most of all, its call quality is outstanding.
The bad: The Z9's 3G performance was variable. Also, its photo quality wasn't as sharp as it could be.
The bottom line: The Z9 may not offer anything new but it's a fine cell phone in all regards. It offers an attractive design, a great feature set, and superb call quality.
