Motorola WX345 Video Transcript
I'm Nicole Lee, senior associate editor for CNET.com and this is a First Look at the Motorola WX345 for Consumer Cellular. It's a relatively basic phone, designed for seniors but it has a few extra features that will please most consumers. As you can see here, the design is very basic, very simple, straightforward rectangular silhouette. On the front here is a simple monochrome LED display. At the top here is a 2-megapixel camera lens. Flip open the phone and you find a very simple 1.8-inch color display. As you can see here, the display is relatively low resolution. The colors aren't that bright either. However, for a simple phone like this, it more than serves its purpose. The keys are nice and big and there's a slight bump underneath each key to help you dial and text by feel. As far as features go, like we said, it's a relatively basic phone, but it also has an MP3 player in addition to stereo Bluetooth. You can also turn on airplane mode to listen to your music while on the plane. A very cool feature of this phone is an FM radio. You do need to plug in a pair of headphones to the headset jack here in order to use it. Once you're in the radio app, aside from listening to your favorite radio stations, you can also record your favorite radio shows. This recording functionality in the radio app is unique and we think adds extra value to the phone. Perhaps the best part about the WX345 is that it is free with a $35 activation fee. Motorola WX345 - silver (Consumer Cellular) Review
The good: The Motorola WX345 has a simple, lightweight design and decent features like a music player, an FM radio, stereo Bluetooth, and a 2-megapixel camera. It's also very affordable.
The bad: The Motorola WX345 feels quite cheap, the display is mediocre, and we would prefer an external camera button.
The bottom line: For the price, the Motorola WX345 is a fantastic, easy-to-use phone with more than the basic features.
