>> Kent German: Hi. I'm Kent German, senior editor here at cnet.com. Today we take a first look at the Motorola Rizr Z6tv. This is the new phone for Verizon Wireless service. You heard the name TV in this phone because it does work off the Verizon's Vcast mobile TV service. Can't show you here because unfortunately we don't get the service here on San Francisco in our labs but we will include the analysis in our review. Does have the Rizr form factor that we saw in the Rizr Z3. Personally I like this form factor a lot. Like the slim kind of shape across the front face. Just really like this sliding action. Has a nice mechanism. It's not too stiff, but not too loose like the thumb grip there you don't have to touch the screen. Same controls and buttons we saw in the original Rizr. We have the navigation targo with an arcade button in the center, a couple of soft keys. The buttons are flat with the surface of the phone but they have some ridges in between them. They give them a little bit of texture, so it's not too bad. Keypad buttons, they are hidden behind the slider, so they are also flat, but again they have these ridges between them so finger doesn't do much sliding around. And it's actually somewhat easy to dial by feel. Does have a microstee [phonetic] slot it's on top of the phone here. Haven't seen that in a lot of other Motorola phones. Usually its -- they stash it on the side or even worse they put it on the back, behind the battery. So, like that here. Also have a voice telling button and a slider lock so you can lock the keypad, which is really nice. Phone does have blue tooth, has a mega pixel camera, you can see the lens right here. Just now flash your self-portrait mirror. Star Trek enforces that Vcast TV service and that over their TV broadcast its not 3D streaming or anything [inaudible], its really good quality. Wish I could say here, you can't tip the phone on the side and get the TV in a landscape format so you are gonna be a little annoyed with that. I'm Kent German and this is Motorola Rizr Z6TV. Motorola Rizr Z6tv - black (Verizon Wireless) Review
The good: The Motorola Rizr Z6tv has a slick slider design, good call quality, and includes Verizon's V Cast Mobile TV service.
The bad: The Motorola Rizr Z6tv lacks some of the features found in the Rizr Z3, and the camera produced disappointing pictures.
The bottom line: The Motorola Rizr Z6tv is an attractive cell phone that delivers good performance and includes live streaming TV.
