>> Hi, I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a first look at that Motorola Razor V3XX. This is a new phone for Cingular or you might call it AT and T Service. Yes we are talking about another Razor. You'd think after this long the company might not be pumping out more versions of the phone but here another one is. It looks a lot like the original Razor, the V3, but the V3XX, which is different from the V3X, does mean that this phone as 3G service. So while we have the V3X, which was compatible with UMTS service, the V3XX is actually compatible with HSDPA which is a 3.5 G service that Cingular offers. The phone does bring a lot more in terms of data speeds, but beyond that pretty much the same basic features with just some tiny design tweaks. Here on the front face, looks very much like the original Razor, have the same camera lens up here, again no flash, no self portrait mirror, but actually the external display does act like a viewfinder for self portraits. It's pretty small like most other Razor's but it does show the day, time, battery life, all that stuff you need. This phone still is branded a Cingular in a few locations, right here as you can see. But actually in some places it actually is now branded as AT and T. Cingular's in the middle of that name change so we'll probably see that for a little bit. Open up the phone, it looks a lot like other Razors. Has a pretty nice display, pretty big, pretty vibrant. Moving down, has a circular toggle. It is flat with the surface of the phone along with the okay button in the middle. There's a little bit of texture here surrounding it, little bit of a raised ridge. So that can help you for dialing by feel but it can be difficult to do that. Overall though, you wouldn't really know this Razor is different. Color's a little different than the original Razor, a little darker, it also comes in a bright gold version for Cingular as well. The good: The Motorola Razr V3xx cell phone offers decent call quality, stereo Bluetooth, and a great interior display. And thanks to the HSDPA data connection, it offers zippy Web browsing, fast downloads, and admirable streaming video quality.

The bad: The Motorola Razr V3xx isn't a quadband world phone, and its 1.3-megapixel camera is inadequate for such a high-end handset. Also, the voice dialing is unreliable, the phone lacks stereo speakers, and the data settings for third-party applications are too restrictive.

The bottom line: Though its feature set didn't live up to expectations, the Motorola Razr V3xx cell phone improves on many of the traditional Razr pitfalls that have plagued the product line since its inception. As such, it's the most satisfying Razr to date.
