>> Hi I'm Kent German, senior editor here at CNET dot com. Today we'll take a first look at the Motorola I776, this is a new phone for the Sprint Nextel service. This does run on Nextel's Ida network so it has all the hallmarks of a Nextel phone. It has that small external display, has all the Nextel features you would not expect like direct connect and group connect and really everything that is great for push to talk. Design is a little different than a lot of Nextel handsets, doesn't have that rubber casing or any kind of durable sidings. The external display is kind of small, like a lot of Nextel handsets, so it does show the date, time, and battery life, and all that information so it's all there. The text is a little small so you're gonna want to check this phone out first if you might have any kind of visual impairments. Open up the phone; internal display doesn't have the best resolution and we're used to that with a lot of Nextel phones. You get colors, aren't particularly bright, graphics and photos don't look particularly sharp, but it is easy to navigate to the menus mostly. Nextel uses that multipage menu system, so you want to be aware of that. Keypad buttons and navigation control - they're okay, pretty easy to use. The keypad buttons are also spaced, large numbers although the letters are a little bit small so if you're a frequent texter you might want to check the phone out. Inside you'll find Bluetooth, you'll find the VGA camera, photo quality wasn't the greatest so you really don't want to buy this phone for it's camera. There are personal organizer options, lot of Nextel functions that are ready functional, and pretty easy to use. Call quality was pretty good, so it did offer that basic functionality. Photo quality like I said, isn't the greatest so you really don't buy this phone for it's camera. I'm Kent German and this is the Motorola I776. [ music ]

Motorola i776 - silver (Sprint) Review
The good: The Motorola i776 offers satisfying call quality and the full slate of Nextel features in a compact, easy-to-use design.
The bad: The Motorola i776's volume level is rather low and its camera is low grade.
The bottom line: Though its volume could be just a bit louder, the Motorola i776 is a decent Nextel phone. Just don't buy it for its camera.
