>> Hi. I'm Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a first look at the Motorola Clutch, also called the i425. This is a new phone for Boost Mobile. This is Boost Mobile's first QWERTY device, so that means the first phone with a full alphabetic keyboard. As such, of course, it's geared to texting, messaging, some pop through email. You might think it's a little small for a QWERTY phone, but I was really drawn to the keyboard, actually. Really like the peaked keys, I found them tactile, found them easy to use. I never the arrangement was crowded. Of course, some of the alphabetic keys do share a space with numeric keys and symbol keys, and you don't get a whole lot of shortcuts, but overall, pretty good. The display is a tiny bit small, not the highest resolution. Also, you have to go through all those multiple menu pages, still not a fan of that design. I really like everything up front on one page, or just being able to scroll down to get to what I want. But overall, pretty good design. Have a few keys here on this side. That's a bit unusual, but you get your messaging up front. You get your web browser, and you get your camera, so you don't have to sort through multiple menus to find them. The phone doesn't have a huge range of features, VGA camera, Bluetooth, messaging, as I said. Does have walkie-talkie push-to-talk services that Boost offers on Nextel service, really, just a phone for communication with a nice keyboard. I'm Kent German, and this is the Motorola Clutch i425. ^M00:01:17 [Music]
