>> Hi I'm Ken Sherman, Senior Editor here at cnet.com. Today we're gonna take a first look at the Motorola C168 I. This is a new phone for AT&T; it is for their Go prepaid service so that means we have a very basic phone, really just designed for making calls; does have a simple candy bar shape; it's not very big for a candy bar phone but just has a small screen, not a lot on the outside to really call attention to itself. Here we have the main display. It is kind of small for the phone overall I thought; I thought it could be a tiny bit bigger. But overall it's not too bad, it doesn't have the greatest resolution, looks a little bit washed out but you do expect that on a phone probably of this caliber. Keypad buttons and navigation controls--you see there's a toggle with an OK button in the middle. The toggle is raised a little above the surface of the phone so it's a little tactile. That button in the center also activates the menu. A couple of soft keys which I thought were a little small and they're also flat with this area of the phone so not a lot of definition between this area and there. Also the talk and the power keys, keypad buttons are raised above the surface of the phone but they are a little squashed together just for the size of the phone, so if you have big fingers like me you may have a little trouble with dialing at first. Otherwise there's not a lot to say about this phone. There's a headset jack here on the top; there's no side-mounted volume control so that does mean when you're on the phone you would have to remove it from your face to adjust the volume with the toggle. But overall, simple, easy to use phone with just basic features for AT&T's Go service. I'm Ken Sherman and this is the Motorola C168 I. ^M00:01:24 [ Music ] ^M00:01:26

Motorola C168i (AT&T) Review
The good: The Motorola C168i is an easy-to-use cell phone, and it offers decent quality. It also has an impressive battery talk time.
The bad: The Motorola C168i lacks a speakerphone, and you can't assign ringtones to callers. Also, the audio sounded fuzzy at times.
The bottom line: The Motorola C168i is a basic functional phone, but it's almost a little too simple.
