Monster Inspiration headphones: Better than Beats? Video
Monster Inspiration headphones: Better than Beats? Video Transcript
I'm David Carnoy executive editor for cnet.com and here with the new monster inspiration -- phones. -- -- premium headphones. -- retail for 24995. And 29990. -- respectively. And difference between the two is that one is an active noise cancellation model and the other is a passive. Noise -- model -- -- way you can tell that to the -- part is that the active noise cancellation model has a kind of shiny finish on its ear cups. While the passive model has a matte finish there's also a place to put two double A batteries in the active noise canceling model. I really like the design of both models the ear cups are nicely pad either and over the ear headphone. -- and they are comfortable -- -- will get your your steam on warmer days. But they are good for wearing around both in the office home and on the road. They are portable headphones and they come with three different cables that come with the cable for Android miles with a built in microphone. They also have the Apple control top cable and then there's just a straight cable for audio purist. In terms the cable connection active noise canceling model you could only connect -- to one ear cup. -- with the past voice has please model it does have a Jack in both ear cups. -- there should be to these guys have is they do have a swap global head ban on you can take off the -- and customize the look of your headphone. The extra head bands do you cost quite a bit of money. On the retail for thirty dollars each I think it's a little bit pricey. You do get one extra had been in the box along the nice carrying case did you select the hold up well over time but these -- the latest headphones these are definitely full size headphones. You feel them on your -- -- do you offer a tight seal however. And and that's why the passive noise canceling model really does Sheila a lot of sound. The noise canceling an active noise canceling model is very effective as you may know already monster was involved with. These -- obviously not he beats brand it had of these very monster -- -- And they don't have the big super deep base of the beats brand is known -- These are more natural sounding. Thereof but warmer they do have some -- to them however these are not Lee -- had -- are slightly aggressively go a little -- -- -- tomb. But -- -- smooth and -- so they don't cause listening fatigue. And I like them a lot overall on the -- not be to everyone's -- but they definitely -- with a wide variety of music. After considering whether to buy the passive model vs the active noise cancer -- I would personally go with the passive model it does feel out a lot of sound on and it does sound slightly cleaner. But of course you're -- frequent traveler you may want the -- -- it is good -- is that but I personally would go with the less expensive. Passive model I'm David Carnoy and that's the monster inspiration -- -- line thanks for watching.
