>> Hi. I'm Jasmine France, senior associate editor for CNET.com and I'm here today with the Monster Beats Dr. Dre Headphones. And as you can see, these are kinda different looking headphones, very stylish, very sleek. They have this nice thick glossy black headband which is adjustable and padded on the under side, and it goes in to this like circular ear-cup holder which has some silver and red accenting. There's red accenting around the cup as well. And then you have this lower case B and a little medallion on the side. It actually functions as a mute button. There's also the on/off switch for the noise cancelling feature which must be used in order to use the headphones. It comes with two sets of cables, a red one and a black one. The black one actually functions with a music cellphone. For example, it has mic built in, and then there's also and an airplane adaptor and quarter-inch adapter for use with home audio systems, as well as a nice hard shell carrying case. It also comes with this nice box and I don't usually bring packaging on the video but I thought this box is really cool. It just opens up and has the various compartments inside it which is a nice feel to it and of course we like the bright red color. Now these headphones will set you back 350 dollars. They are pretty expensive but they are very comfortable, very stylish and from initial testing, I could say that they sound very good. So, if you're looking for something that is a little bit different than your standard headphones but you still want really crisp audio, the Monster Beats Dr. Dre Headphones could fit the bill. I'm Jasmine France for CNET. ^M00:01:20 [ Music ]

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones Review

The good: The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones offer a stylish and comfortable design as well as exceptionally crisp audio response. Sound quality is mostly balanced, with warm mids and thumping bass. Included are a nice carrying case and a music-phone-compatible cable.

The bad: The Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones cannot be used without batteries. Glossy black design is very smudge-prone, and a few songs sound harsh. Right earcup rattles while you walk.

The bottom line: The unique and stylish Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones offer solid audio, useful accessories, and a look that's anything but copycat. For fashion-forward folks with cash to spare, they're a great option.
