T-Mobile Sidekick Slide Video Transcript
>> Hi I'm Bonnie Cha, senior editor of CNET dot com and today we're taking a first look at the T-Mobile Sidekick slides. The sidekick is distinct for 2 reasons. First it's the first sidekick not made by Danger or Sharp, it's actually made by Motorola and it has a slide out screen instead of a swivel screen. This screen is really nice too, it didn't improve display over the previous sidekicks. It's also the smallest model out there but in return you get a smaller keyboard that I wasn't a fan of, the keys are really kind of slippery and stiff. Inside it's pretty much the same sidekick as always, you have your IM, clients, and your T-Mobile email account as well as music player and a 1 point 3 megapixel camera here on the back. Still no video recording capabilities which is unfortunate. Also it has a port for Myspace mobiles so you can check your Myspace account on here. Great for the teens and younger audiences and for. Overall I'd say if you're a sidekick user or previous sidekick user I'd go with the LX, it's a better upgrade I think but if you're a first time user the Sidekick Slide might be a good option and it's cheaper at one ninety-nine ninety-nine with a two year contract. I'm Bonnie Cha and it's been a first look at the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide. [ music ]

T-Mobile Sidekick Slide Review
The good: The T-Mobile Sidekick Slide features a slide-up screen and a more compact frame than previous models. The handheld continues to offer excellent messaging features as well as Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, and a music player. It also works with MySpace Mobile.
The bad: The Slide's QWERTY keyboard is a bit stiff, and the camera doesn't record video. You need a microSD card to play music, and the expansion slot is located inconveniently behind the battery. Also, call quality could have been better.
The bottom line: With its slide-up screen, the T-Mobile Sidekick Slide offers a nice design alternative to the other Sidekick models. It's fine for first-time users but diehard Sidekick fans may prefer the more robust T-Mobile Sidekick LX.
