>> Hi, this is Bonnie Cha senior associate and editor at CNET.com and today we're taking a first look at the T Mobile Sidekick ID. This is basically like a baby brother or sister to The Sidekick 3, takes out the camera Bluetooth and MP3 playback and expandable media. It's basically a very basic phone. You still get instant messaging and an email account through T Mobile, as well as a web browser. But I think they took out to much I would have at least liked to have seen a camera on such a user friendly devise. Design wise it's kind of a mix between the Sidekick 3 and the Sidekick 2 you get the Sidekick 2 coloring care, but you get the track ball found on the 3. Also, it comes with exchangeable bumpers. This one actually matches my shirt. In the box you get the gray ones but you can switch them out they have blue and pink. You also get the swivel screen just tap it here and it will swivel up and you've got this nice roomy keyboard great for instant messaging and text messaging. The one attractive quality about this phone is its 99 dollars. So, you know, it's good for beginners teenagers or even younger so. It's a good starting device, but otherwise if you can afford it I would upgrade to the Sidekick 3. I'm Bonnie Cha this has been the T Mobile Sidekick ID. ^M00:01:14 [ Music ]

T-Mobile Sidekick iD Review
The good: The T-Mobile Sidekick iD carries an affordable price tag and features interchangeable bumpers for customization. The handheld also comes preloaded with popular instant messaging clients, its own e-mail account, and an HTML Web browser.
The bad: The Sidekick iD strips out too many features, most notably a camera. Surfing the Net on the device is slow without the EDGE speeds.
The bottom line: The T-Mobile Sidekick iD offers all the great messaging capabilities of the Sidekick 3 at half the price, but the rest of the handheld's feature set is very limited; too bare-bones, in our opinion. That said, young, cash-strapped kids will find the iD to be a good option.
