>> Hi I'm Bonnie Cha, Senior Editor at CNET.com and today we're taking a First Look at the T-Mobile Shadow. This actually looks like a cell phone but it's a Smartphone; it's running Windows Mobile 6 and T-Mobile is aiming this kind of at first time Smartphone users somewhere in between the Sidekick and the T-Mobile Dash users. So you've got this really nice sleek design here, it's got this beautiful screen and T-Mobile's kind of tweaked the interface so it's more fun and less business-ey. On the front you've got the navigation wheel which is new, you can also push it up and down like the traditional wheel. It's a little lose so I had a hard time using it. You can also slide this up and you get a 20-key QUERTY keyboard; it's like the short type keyboard on the Blackberries but it doesn't use the same technology. On the back you've got a two-megapixel camera. T-Mobile is advertising this more as a phone first, Smartphone so you've got My Fave so you can call your five contacts on the minute. You've also got e-mail and instant messaging as well though and like I said it's running Windows Mobile 6 so if you want you can use it to look at office documents if you're ready for that. Otherwise it's a nice quality for 150 dollars. Call quality was pretty good so if you think you're ready to make the jump from a cell phone to a Smartphone the T-Mobile Shadow is a pretty good choice. I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been a First Look at the T-Mobile Shadow. ^M00:01:20 [ Music ] ^M00:01:24

T-Mobile Shadow (copper) Review
The good: The T-Mobile Shadow offers a fresh take on Windows Mobile smartphones, with a sleek slider design and interface. The entry-level device also has an affordable price tag and features a beautiful display; Bluetooth and Wi-Fi; a 2-megapixel camera; and various messaging capabilities.
The bad: The call quality of the Shadow could be better, particularly the speakerphone. The navigation wheel is slippery, and performance can be sluggish when numerous apps are in use.
The bottom line: For the young professionals who have outgrown their cell phone but aren't quite ready for a business-centric device, the T-Mobile Shadow offers a nice compromise, as the entry-level smartphone brings the capabilities of a Windows Mobile smartphone into a fresh and affordable package.
