Mirage Nanosat 5.1 Video Transcript

>> Jeff: Hey what's going on everyone, I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com today we're checking out the Mirage Nano Sat 5 point 1. Now the Nano Sat is a 5 point 1 surround-sound speaker system that comes with an 8 inch powered subwoofer. The really cool thing about this system is the design of the satellite speakers they have a very unique omni directional construction that actually helps them fill the room better than any other conventional speaker we've seen. In fact, with the lights turned off in a room it's tough to actually tell where the sound is coming from, they sort of disappear which is something we really thought was pretty cool. The speakers themselves are also really small so you'll be able to save a whole lot of real estate when positioning them around your listening room. Also, there's no set center or left and right channels so any speaker in the system can work with any channel. The grills are also magnetic so they just snap right back into place after you've removed them. Overall sound quality is excellent we were really impressed with how well this system performed with music and movies alike. The Nano Sat 5 point 1 goes for around $800 so if you're tight on money there's always the Energy Take Classic in Editor's Choice that is also half the price. Still the Nano Sat beats that system in overall sound quality. I'm Jeff Bakalar and this has been the Mirage Nano Sat 5 point 1 surround-sound speaker system. ^E00:01:26

Mirage Nanosat 5.1 Review

The good: Compact and attractive 5.1 channel home theater speaker package with 8-inch powered subwoofer; omnipolar technology produces remarkably spacious sound; extra satellites are available.

The bad: The satellites imaging isn't as precisely focused as box speakers'; the sound may be too diffused for some tastes.

The bottom line: Mirage's gorgeous Nanosat 5.1 Home Theater System may be small, but it produces a huge, room-filling sound for music and movies.
