>> Lets say that you want to watch a video while you're on the move. That's great if you've got a laptop but what if you want to see it on something a little bit smaller like this iPhone or Trio. I'm Jessica Dolcourt from CNETDownload.com and today we're taking a first look at Media Cell Video Converter, which specializes in converting all sorts of video files to a smaller format for your favorite mobile device. For example, your Blackberry, PSP or cell phone. Media Cell Video Converter is a single pane interface with a few very specific tasks. You start on the top of the screen marked input by browsing through the video file. In a few seconds, the app opens details of the video you just selected like file size, video length, frame rate and resolution. Click advanced features and more fields toggle into view in the output portion on the bottom of the screen. Here you can choose the quality of the converted file. Remember that full quality can use up to twice as much space as medium quality. There are also fields to fine tune the details. You can adjust bit rates, frame rates and audio details too. You can really see how drastic the video transformation is when you compare the file size of the original with the mobile version. My relatively small video, which shows up as four and a half by six inches on the screen is still 200 megabytes larger than the mobile file. You'll notice this large convert button that's begging you to click on it. But before you do, spend a moment with this white icon box. Now most video converters on the market that convert among different file types require you to know the video file format that you're converting from as well as the file type your converting to. For example, from MPEG4 to 3GP. This means that you already have to know which file type your mobile device supports. The genius of this feature here is that it will automatically optimize the settings for you depending on your device. You don't have to worry about which file type its going to be. The program will work it out for you. However, it never does tell you what the format is until the video is done encoding, which could take some time depending on the file size. There's also no easy way to convert the file into multiple outputs in a single session. For example, if I want three different file types, I would have to repeat the process three different times. This is Jessica Dolcourt and we've been looking at Media Cell Video Converter. ^M00:02:11 [ Music ]
